Animal Train Sort and Match-Review

Logo_2-300x155

I think this is my most favorite learning toy that Guidecraft has sent me!

t354_b130b0d6457a1c7d63a68786dc5d3ec7

It’s called Animal Train Sort and Match. They also have a flower version and a construction version. It took me just a minute to figure out how exactly to play with this amazing learning toy, but once I got it figured out the learning and fun began!

Animal Sort 009

This amazing learning toy comes with 6 double-sided, very sturdy picture cards, and numerous plastic puzzle-like pieces. Each piece has a very mellow magnet hidden inside. As the child looks at the card, he copies the picture using the pieces in the box. The magnets help stabilize the pieces but they do not on stay independently. The picture has to be put together in an orderly way: bottom to top or front to back, to stay together properly.

Animal Sort 015

The box says 3+ but my 2 year old didn’t have any trouble figuring this out once I showed him how to “read” the card and go in a specific direction. I used words like: first, next, after, before, on top of, etc.

Animal Sort 011

Just look how happy he was with his accomplishment!

Animal Sort 018

My 5 year old loved it too!

Animal Sort 024

You can see she was concentrating very hard!

Animal Sort 028

But she figured it out as well!

Animal Sort 029

Even my 7 year old tried it out, but it didn’t hold his attention as long as it did the others.

I love this learning toy because it’s all contained in a lovely wooden box, it uses problem solving and prereading skills, and it’s a puzzle! If you’ve see our Tot School, you know I LOVE puzzles!

And as an extra bonus, I get to give away one of these great learning toys! And remember, if you don’t win, you can go to the Guide Craft website or Amazon and get your own!

I own the Guidecraft twist & sort, but the Construct it early builder set and the Animal train sort & match is on my Amazon wishlist !
I think at this stage my son will enjoy the Animal train a lot so that would be my favorite product for now.

  8. After reviewing the site, can I just pick one of everything, because it's all wonderful stuff I would use for my kids. I especially love the Market Place Loft...LOL.. but I certainly don't have room for that in my house. I love the animal train sort, the Interlox and the Cylinders, but anything I win that is free is great, because it's free and my 4 kids would love it.

I just discovered Guidecraft on Mama Jenn's blogsite and I really like all the company has to offer, but I like most of all that they offer learning products that are singular and not so much mainstream. This is my first time visiting your site and I have to say I just love finding Christian homeschool blogsites that encourage and inspire other moms who also seek to honor the Lord in all aspects of their lives...starting with their homes and their loved ones growing in it.:) Thank you so much!
