A Candid Tour of the Taffy Academy School Room

This is the video I made for the August Edition of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.  Even if you don’t have a subscription, I still want to be able to share a little bit more of me with you.  Hopefully you all see that I am very normal…well maybe not, you might think I’m slightly bizarre after watching this, but I don’t mind.  lol I hope it at least makes you smile!  Thanks to Chocolate Taffy for the superb filming job!

P.S.  Here’s the full article.

  1. This was so fun, LOve, Love, Love your homeschool room. Question: Have you read The Well Trained Mind, if so could you give us a review?, do you use their methods? Our homeschool benefits from the reviews you post. Thanks. Kim

    1. Hi Kim!! I am working my way through the Well-Trained Mind. It's slow going for me but I will share my thoughts when I finish. :)

  2. I'm thinking you need a Super Mom shirt and cape to go along with your amazing organizing skills. :) I feel so inspired. H1 really enjoyed the video too and getting to see your set-up. I think he's getting a better idea of some of my goals for home schooling H3 (and H4 eventually).

  3. LOVE this post! What a delightful glimpse into your schoolroom and how you set it all up. I just finished our school prep for our 8th year of homschooling, and wanted to thank you for doing this video tour, as it was such fun to see how you do things at your house. You should definitely do more videos like this from time to time. It was so enjoyable! Blessings on your school year!

  4. Thank you for letting me see into your home. I love your blog and have been following you for a year or so. I do have to say it was fun to hear your voice! I have been seeing all of you pictures and your writtings and it is always fun to hear the voice that goes along with it.

We have been homeschooling for 4 years and we have went thru so many school changes from kitichen table to school room to desks in bedrooms and now we are couch, table, desk schoolers.

I did make a huge misstake and sent my daughter to highschool. I regret this so much. We are unsure if we will be taking her back out or not. I do plan on schooling everyone to the "end". It is great to see someone who is doing this also. My homeschool group that I run has only little ones so it is hard to see what it will be like from them. So finding your blog has helped in so many ways.

Thank you for all of you encouragment you have given me along this journey to homeschooling. Your such a blessing.
    God Bless,

  5. Thank you! We liked your video. You are an example for me, I hope, our school room and our life would be so organized as yours sometime!

  6. Oh, I am so glad you posted the video here! I couldn't get the video lot work from the link to the Old Schoolhouse (maybe I need a subscription to view the video? Either that, or it doesn't work with iPads!)

Also, I would like to admit that I am exactly the same way with lining up books. I also like them organized either by subject, alphabetically by author, or by color too.... So, I TOTALLY get it. It isn't weird. That is what I keep telling myself anyway. ; )

  7. I was going to save a few outtakes to share on my blog when my video went live but I whimped out at the last minute. Now I wish I had. Loved your video! You are a natural.

  8. What a wonderful blog you have with some great resources including this video. Such a great inspiration for us that want to get more organized. I am just amazed on how young you look with the age children you have. Have you done a post on how to not get really frazzled and look great?

Your comments make me happy! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!!
